Tapkeshwar Mahadev Mandir is the most famous Lord Shiva's temple of Dehradun. It is popular by various names as Tapkeshwer Dham, Tapkeshwar Mandir, and Tapkeshwar temple. Tapkeshwar Shiv temple is a natural cave that is situated near the Tons River. This cave is also famous as 'Dron Cave' because Guru Dronacharya did 'Tapasya' here.

There is a Swayambhu Shivling inside the cave on which water drops fall naturally and regularly. That’s why this Shiv temple called Tapkeshwar. Around the temple, greenery, river, and springs make this place naturally beautiful. Read more


Jai Maa Daat Kali Manokamna Siddh Peeth Mandir is popularly known as Daat Kali Mandir in Dehradun. Daat Kali Mandir is among the popular temples of the Dehradun. Daat Kali Mandir is dedicated to the Goddess Kali. Goddess Kaali is the avatar of Goddess Shakti.

Shri Prakasheshwar Mahadev Mandir is a temple of Hindu Lord Shiva which is located on the Dehradun-Mussoorie Road in Uttarakhand and popularly known as Shiv Mandir on Mussoorie road. This Shiv temple has Sphatik Shivling of Lord Shiva.

There are many Shiv Mandir in Dehradun but it is a special one because it is a private temple owned by an unknown owner. Things to do in Dehradun
Laxman Siddh Peeth Temple
It is an ancient and popular temple that is located in Dehradun. Laxman Sidh Temple is only 13 kilometers from the Dehradun railway station. It is situated amidst dense forests during a very calm and picturesque environment on the Haridwar NH 72 highway.

There are four very famous and old Siddh temples in Dehradun. Among all four Laxman Siddh Temple is very famous than others. Every local person of Dehradun know about these temples and go there during the fairs organized and festivals. Read more


It is in Kaluwala village is popularly known as Kalu Sidh and among the one the temple of famous Char Sidh Peeths of Dehradun. It is a local pilgrim place and famous in nearby city devotees also. It is situated in a very dense forest area near the river.

There is a Shiv Ling also in the Kalu Sidh Peeth. It is believed that in the 15th century, the Shiv Ling was established in Kalu Sidh, which is under the open sky. Efforts to make the roof on this have always been failing. Read more


It is in the very dense forest near the Nimi River near the village of Aamwala. The Madu Sidh Peeth temple is at a calm place very far from the city life. You can reach there by two ways, one way is from Chakrata road via Premnagar and another via Kaulagarh road.

Actually, Madu Sidh temple is a Lord Shiv temple where you can see the Swayambhu Shivling. This Swayambhu Shivling is worshiped here from Treta Yug. Local and nearby city devotees regularly visit this Madu Siddh temple. Read more

Shri Prithvi Nath Mahadev Mandir of Dehradun one of the very ancient Lord Shiva temple. It is said the Shivling emerged from the ground itself so this is the Swambhoo Shivling. Prithvi Nath is one of the names of Lord Shiva. Prithvi Nath means Lord of Earth.

The temple is called Shri Prithvi Nath temple because of the Shivling established here is in the form of the earth that is filled with water always. At Prithvi Nath Mahadev temple trinity is established at the one place in the form of Pindies. One Pindi is for Lord Brahma, one for Lord Vishnu and the Shivling is under the water-filled form in the earth's shape. Read more


Santala Devi Mandir is a very popular and ancient hilltop temple of Dehradun. The temple is also famous as the Santora Devi temple among the devotees. The Santala Devi temple is situated in the village of Jahariwala.

Temple is situated at the hilltop and at the bottom of the hill there is a very beautiful River Nun which makes it a very beautiful location for the tourist who comes to visit this temple. Santala Devi temple is at about 2083 m height.

There are other Gods statues also in the Santala Devi Temple such as Gauri Sankar Statues, Lord Hanuman, Lord Shani Dev, Maa Kali, etc. Read more

Maa Bala Sundari Mandir
One of the popular temples of Maa Bala Sundari is situated at Sudhowala in Dehardun. This temple is situated inside the lush green dense forest which is approximately 3.5 km from Sudhowala in South-West direction. Mahamaya Bala Sundari is an infant state of Goddess Vaishno Devi.  

This temple is considered as Sidh Peeth Mandir of Maa Bala Sundari and it is believed it a very old temple and the actual Pindi form of Maa Bala Sundari is in the small old temple where devotees go for worship since time immemorial. Read more


Shri Balaji Dham or Shri Siddh Hanuman Mandir is situated at national highway 72, Jhajra, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This temple was established by Baba Ram Kishan Das Barfani in Jhajra in the year 1957. Balaji is a very famous name of Hindu God Hanuman. Balaji's name is famous in north India. 

Balaji means Baal Hanuman or the childhood form of Lord Hanuman Ji. There is the main statue of Shri Balaji, Bhairav Baba, and Shri Pretraj Sarkar is established in the Shri Balaji Dham. Other than these God, Lord Shiva, Shivling, Lord Vishnu, Radha Krishna, Durga Mata, Lord Shani, etc statue also there. Read more
