Not only in Dehradun city there are lots of tourist places to visit near Dehradun such as Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, etc. I to date visited many places in Dehradun. Some of the places I visited many times and some of the places only once. But up to date, I have to visit lots of tourist places in Dehradun.

There are a variety of tourist places to see in Dehradun such as historical buildings, famous temples, waterfalls, caves, museums, zoos, etc. There are many places to visit in Dehradun for couples such as Sahastradhara, Gucchu Pani, FRI, etc.

Jhanda Mela Dehradun


One of the popular fairs of Northern India is the Flag Fair of Dehradun which is more popularly as Jhanda Mela or Jhande Ji ka Mela. This Jhanda Mela starts on the fifth day of Chaitra (the fifth day from the Holi) which is the birthday of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji. 

Other than being the birthday of Guru Ram Rai, it is the day he came to Dehradun in 1676 AD. So this flag hoisting ceremony is celebrated at Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib, Jhanda Bazar in Dehradun by his large number of devotees to remember Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji every year. Read more

Santala Devi Mandir is a very popular and ancient hilltop temple of Dehradun. The temple is also famous as Santora Devi temple among the devotees. The Santala Devi temple is situated in the village of Jahariwala. Temple is situated at the hilltop and at the bottom of the hill there is a very beautiful river Nun which makes it a very beautiful location for the tourist who comes to visit this temple. 

Santala Devi temple is about 2083 m in height. There are other Gods statues also in the Santala Devi Temple such as Gauri Sankar Statues, Lord Hanuman, Lord Shani Dev, Maa Kali, etc. Read more

Regional Science Centre is also called as Aanchalik Vigyan Kendra and more popularly known as Vigyan Dham in Dehradun. It is situated in Jhajra near Suddhowala. Regional Science City is developed by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) and National Council for Science Museum (NCSM).

The aim of Aanchalik Vigyan Kendra is to popularize science & technology and scientific knowledge among the students and common people. Whole-year students and common peoples visit the Regional Science City Dehradun.
