Lachhiwala Nature Park was established in 1982 as a part of Lachhiwala
range under the Dehradun forest division.
Initially, its name was "Paryatak Sthal Lachhiwala" (Tourist
Place Lachhiwala) and more popular as picnic spots of Dehradun, later its name
changed and becomes Lachhiwala Nature Park.
In the natural environment of the Lachhiwala range for attracting
tourists Lachhiwala forest rest house was constructed in 1984 that attracts the
tourists and couples who want to stay here for some time.
Things to Do in Lachhiwala
For the visitors, there are lots of things to do like swimming or bathing
in man-made water pools, trekking, a variety of birds watching, enjoying
Butterfly Park, watch a variety of trees, Ganga Vatika, herbal plants park and
definitely, you can relax here on Mother Nature's lap. Visitors can also stay at
the forest rest house.
Lachhiwala is popular among Doon peoples as a picnic destination so many

The best time to go to Lachhiwala Nature Park would be during summer from
March to June. At that time travelers can enjoy swimming, bathing, and other
activities in this park. There are not many activities to do for visitors
during the rainy season and winter season.
As per timing best time to visit Lachhiwala would be early morning.
Lachhiwala opens at 8 am in the morning so for enjoying a full day here you
should come early morning. Bathing and swimming in the freshwater of Suswa

Lachhiwala is situated on the Dehradun-Haridwar highway near the Doiwala
block of Dehradun. Doiwala is about 4 km from the Lachhiwala Nature Park.
Lachhiwala's distance from Dehradun railway station and ISBT bus stand is about
17 km.
There are lots of city buses and Vikram's available for the Lachhiwala
directly from the Dehradun various points such as Jollygrant, Garhi Cantt,
Clocktower, Ranipokari, ISBT, etc. so easily visitors can reach here. You can
go there also by your own vehicles that are more convenient than public buses
or Vikram.
Haridwar to Lachhiwala is approx 60 km far away. If you are want to come
from Haridwar to Lachhiwala then you can take directly roadways buses run from
the Bus station of Haridwar that would be more suitable for you. It will be
about one and half hour journey from Haridwar. There are lots of trains and
buses available from nearby cities to reach Dehradun.
