Uttarakhand City Forest

Anand Van was established by the Uttarakhand government in October 2020 with the help of the Forest department. The whole concept of this Anand Van is of Mrs. Sadhana Jayaraj, who is the wife of Chief Conservator of Forests Jairaj. She planned and designed this nature park in the year 2017 and with the help of the forest department and government this Uttarakhand City forest is open to the common public on 17th October 2020.

Anand Van is Uttarakhand's first city forest that has been developed as a Nature Education Center. Here you can see detailed information about the fauna and flora of different species. Here you get information about Uttarakhand's culture, crafts, religious places, and traditions.

This nature park also includes health-improving things like walking tracks, cycling tracks, and acupressure facilities. To provide information to visitors park has lots of signboards that display useful information.

How to Reach Anand Van

Anand Van is situated in the Jhajra of Dehradun. Jhajra is situated at Chakrata road near the Selaqui area. Anand Van Dehradun's distance from the ISBT Dehradun is only 15 km and from the railway station Dehradun it is 13 km.

If you want to come here by city bus then you have to take the bus from ISBT Bus stand for the Vikashnagar route. After about 15 km of travel, you will reach Jhajra and after Shri Balaji Dham Mandir and Police Chowki Jhajra, there is an Anand Van Uttarakhand city forest board you can see on the road in the right-hand direction. You have to leave the bus here. Anand Van is only about 150-200 meters inside from the main road and you can go easily on foot.

If you want to come here by your own vehicle then you can easily come here by Chakrata road or by Shimla bypass road.
