Maa Umiya Dham is a locally popular temple of the Patidar community and maximum Patidar persons go there to get Darshan of Maa Umiya Devi Temple at Rau. But other peoples also go there to get blesses by Maa Umiya that is Maa Parwati also.

Umiya Mata is the Kuldevi of the Kadva Patidar community that mainly found in Gujarat. Umiya Mata is Goddess Parvati, who is the wife of Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvati is popular with Uma's name also.

Umiya Mata's most popular temple also situated in the Unjha, Mehsana district, Gujarat. There is a new and grand Umiya Mata temple under construction in Ahmadabad on 100 acres. There are many temples in India and abroad with the name of Maa Umiya.

In Indore city, Rau has a good number of Patidar community. They built their Kuldevi Umiya Mata Temple in the Rau near the Rangwasa Road with the name of Maa Umiya Dham.

Maa Umiya Dham is built in a good and spacious place. Temple is marble finished and has all facilities for the devotees. Temple has an open and big neat and clean hall where you can sit and relax under the Maa Umiya blessings.

There are three idols inside the main temple. In the middle Maa Umiya idol, in right-hand side Goddess Saraswati, and left-hand side Goddess Laxmi idols are there.

Temple opens daily in the early morning at 06:00 am and closed in the late evening at 10:00 pm. So you can go anytime to the temple and get blessed by the Maa Umiya.

Visiting Time duration

Temple is not so big and not many things to see here during normal days. You can visit this temple complete within half an hour only.

Best Time to Visit Maa Umiya Dham

You can go to the temple at any time. But to see the real beauty of the temple you should go during Navratri when the temple is beautifully decorated with flowers and lightings.

There are lots of cultural and religious activities also organized at that time. During the Navratri, on the Mahaastmai there is grand Aarti of Maa Umiya is organized. You can see here the Garba dance during the Navratri days.

As per the environment of Indore city, you should visit Indore from February to March and August to November at that time Indore city weather is pleasant for traveling.

Maa Umiya Dham temple is situated in a peaceful place. That has lots of space for many activities.

  • Temple has lots of free parking spaces.
  • Inside the campus, there is no sweets shop but outside the temple, there is a market where all type of shops available
  • Patidar community use this place for organizing various type activities such as organizing marriage here, community meetings, etc.


How to Reach Maa Umiya Dham

Reaching Indore city is not a tough job. Indore city is the commercial city of Madhya Pradesh and well connected by the airways, railways, and roadways. There are lots of private travel and tour operators that buses run in different cities.

Maa Umiya Daham is situated in the Rau and the Rau is very well connected by the train and city bus. At Rau roadways buses also stoppage.

From the Rau railway station, Maa Umiya Dham is only one kilometer away. If you asked anyone to Maa Umiya Devi temple anyone can easily guide you. You can see many shops and places name Maa Umiya such as Maa Umiya Patidar Girls H.S.School, Maa Umiya Tent House & Decoration, etc.

Rau is about 14 km far away from Indore city and you will reach there within half an hour. Maa Umiya Dham situated near the Rau-CAT road in the Rau. From there you can easily reach the temple with a walkable distance.

  • I will not recommend that you go there especially for that temple. But I will suggest that if you are there or passing from there you can visit this temple also.
  • When I lived in Rau, I visited many time this temple during festivals or normal days also. You can spend some quality time with your loved ones here in a peaceful environment.
