Ayodhya is the holiest city for all Hindu’s in worldwide. Ayodhya is famous worldwide due to it is the birthplace of the Hindu’s Lord Shri Ram. Lord Shri Ram was the 7th Avatar of God Vishnu. Most popularly in local or in India called Ayodhya as ‘Ram Janam Bhumi’. There is Ram Mandir at the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram which is not constructed or completed till date due to ‘Ayodhya dispute’. 
Ayodhya is an ancient city of Uttar Pradesh, India which is among the Hindus seven sacred cities. For Lord Rama’s devotees, Ayodhya is an important pilgrim. Every year lots of Lord Shri Ram devotees come to Ayodhya for Hindus very famous festival Ram Navami.

All Hindu festivals celebrated very well in Ayodhya but Ram Navami is directly related to Lord Shri Ram. As per Hindu mythology, Ram Navami is considered as Birthday of the Lord Shri Ram. So lots of devotees reach from various places of all over India to see the Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. There is a river in Ayodhya called Saryu which is also very famous. So the devotees who come to Ayodhya take a bath in the Saryu River.

India is considered as Hindu country that why its name also Hindustan. But till date, there is no Lord Shri Ram temple at the Lord Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya. The reason behind this, there was a dispute behind the land so called Ram Janambhoomi between Hindus and Muslims. There was a Babri Masjid which was broken by some peoples called Kar Sevaks 1992. The main concern of the Ayodhya dispute is that Hindus want to rebuilt of Lord Shri Ram temple at the place of Ram Janambhoomi but the Muslims not agree for this and they claim that there was a Mosque Babri Masjid) so they will now allow for Hindu temple on their land.

For Hindus, there are seven scared or divine cites in India. List of all with reason listed below.
  1. Ayodhya- Birthplace of Lord Shri Ram.
  2. Dwarka- Capital of Lord Krishna where he lived after killing Kamsa.
  3. Haridwar- The city of Ganga called as Gateway to Lord Vishnu.

Best Time to visit

February to March during Ram Navami it is the best time to visit Ayodhya. That time climate is also good not much hot or not much cold. After this time, you can go to Ayodhya during Diwali in October or November Month of the year.

How to Reach

Ayodhya is well connected by road and railway. For the airport, you have to go to the nearest city Lucknow. You will get trains, transport and private buses from various cities for Ayodhya. Ayodhya is only 2-3 hours journey by train, bus or private cab due to it is approximately 134 km from Lucknow.

F.R.I.-Forest Research Institute is one of the most famous educational and tourist place in Dehradun, India. It is popular for British era colonial architectural beauty with the lush green campus of the institute spread over in 450 hectares. It is a good attraction for those tourists who are the nature lover, students and teachers of Environmental, Botanical and Forestry science and also for Civil and Architecture students.

FRI Highlights
  • Made by the British government in 1878 for forest research of Uttrakhand with the name as the British Imperial Forest School.
  • Reestablished in 1906 as the Imperial Forest Research Institute for British Imperial Forestry Services. 
  • Guinness Book of Records kept FRI in its records for a time due to its building is the largest pure brick structure.
  • The main principal front of the building is approx. 1000 feet long. 
  • FRI building is the example of Colonial architectural and Greco-Roman style.
  • It was built in1906 so its building has features of mixed architectural style such as Mughal towers, Roman columns edged, formed arches and very large size of the building.
  • Get status of Forest Research Institute (Deemed to be University), Dehradun in December 1991.
  • It works as headquarter of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE).
  • It has the largest Forestry Research human resource in South Asia.
FRI Museum

For agriculture students, FRI museum is the best thing for visiting and learning. A common person can also learn from the museum lots of things of nature. There are six museums and open to all at nominal entry fee to see it.

  1. Entomology Museum- Collection of more than 3000 various stages of insects and pest found in the forest.
  2. Pathology Museum- Collection of all type plant diseases and pathogens found in the forest.
  3. Social Forestry Museum- Collection of models and photographs showing the importance of forest in our lives.
  4. Timber Museum- Collection of 126 commercial important kinds of wood and their uses.
  5. Non-Wood Forest Products Museum(NWFPM)- Collection of forest products such as Lac, essential oils, edible products, spices, drugs, tans, gums etc. and their uses.
  6. Silviculture Museum- Displaying various types models and photographs on Silvicultural System.

FRI is not only attracted the tourists, it also attracts the Bollywood movie makers for the shooting of the movie. Lots of movies shot here such as Dulhan Ek Raat Ki, Student of the year, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Pyaar Tere Naal he, Paan Singh Tomar, and Krishna Cottage.

FRI nearby peoples go there for morning and evening walks. For tourists it opens at 09:30 am to 05:00 pm daily except Monday. Total time for visiting this nice place will be 2 to 3 hours.

Forest Research Institute is very popular in Dehradun city you can directly bus, auto and taxi from the Dehradun railway station and ISBT bus stand. It is only 6 km from the railway station.

Shri Balaji Dham- Shri Siddh Hanuman Mandir is situated at national highway 72, Jhajra, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This temple was established by Baba Ram Kishan Das Barfani in Jhajra in 1957.
Balaji is a very famous name of Hindu God Hanuman. Balaji name is famous in north India. Balaji means Baal Hanuman or childhood form of Lord Hanuman.

Most famous Balaji Mandir is Mehandipur Balaji Mandir in Dausa, Rajasthan. Shri Balaji Dham temple is established with the same theme of the Mehandipur Balaji Mandir. Prayer of Balaji and worship methods for the Balaji is same as in Mehandipur Balaji Mandir. There are the main statue of Shri Balaji, Bhairav Baba and Shri Pretraj Sarkar are established in the Shri Balaji Dham. Other than these God, Lord Shiva, Shivling, Radha Krishna, Durga Mata, Lord Shani etc statue also there.

Persons who suffer or affected by several type bad or evil spirits, ghost come here for getting relief from them by the prayer methods followed by here such as Arji, Sawanani, and Darkhast. In the Balaji Dham, they give special Prasad to offer the Gods. We have to offer Boondi or Boondi k laddu to Shri Balaji and rice with urad daal to Bhairav Baba and Shri Pretraj.

Balaji Dham is full of devotees daily but on Saturday and Tuesday there a huge crowd of devotees in the temple because these days are special for the Shri Balaji. Every Tuesday and Saturday there is a feast for all devotees. Bhandara starts in the afternoon after the Prasad or Bhog offered to Shri Balaji.
Since the 16th April 2003 in the Shri Balaji Dham, each and every year Shri Balaji Jayanti or Lord Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on large scale. So there is a huge crowd of Balaji devotees in the temple which is very well managed by the temple authorities.

Temple facilities

Temple have enough space for all arrangements and all facilities are there such as drinking water, hand or foot washing water, washroom, meditation area, storage room, shoes or sandal stand etc. Temple is well managed by the patron, Baba Balram Das Hathyogi.

Timing

Shri Balaji Dham is open for devotees in the early morning and closes in late night. So you can easily visit the Balaji Mandir during the day period.

Prasad for Balaji

Inside the temple, there is a counter where the special Prasad is distributed for the Balaji offering. The cost of Prasad is Rs. 10 only. This prasad is only offering for Shri Balaji, Bhairav Baba, and Shri Pretraj Sarkar.

There many shops outside the main gate of the temple who sell various types of Prasad for offering other God and Goddess inside the temple. Such as Boondi for Hanuman Ji, Mustered oil Deepak (oil lamp) for God Shani Ji etc.

How to Reach

Shri Balaji Dham is on the main road of national highway 72, Jhajra in Dehradun, so it easy to reach there with by private car, auto or Bus. It takes a maximum of 20 minutes to reach Shri Balaji from the ISBT Dehradun. The total distance is approx. 15 km from ISBT Dehradun to Shri Balaji Dham.

Ayyappa Swamy Birth Story

Ayyappa is the son of Lord Shiva and Mohini. Mohini is the female avatar of God Vishnu. Lord Vishnu takes Mohini Avatar for killing the Bhasmasura. Bhasmasura had the power to kill anyone by touching on anyone's head. Lord Shiva gave this power to Bhasmasur but for testing, this power Bhasmasur want to touch the Lord Shiva head so Lord Vishnu take Mohini avatar. Bhasmasur falls in love with Mohini and touch his own head and killed himself.

Lord Shiva also gets attracted to Mohini. Hence Lord Ayyappa was born by the union between Lord Shiva and Mohini (Lord Vishnu). Hence Lord Ayyappa was born by the union between Lord Shiva and Mohini (Lord Vishnu). So Lord Ayyappa also called as Hariharan Puthiran means son of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Word 'Hari' is used for Lord Vishnu and 'Haran' is used for Lord Shiva.

Lord Ayyappa Birthday Date

As per Tamil calendar, Panguni Uthiram is considered as the Ayyappa Swamy birthday date. Panguni Uthiram is a very important festival in Tamil Nadu. Ayyappan Jayanti is celebrated each and every year in Tamil Nadu. Panguni is the last month of Tamil calendar. As per the English calendar, it will come in March or April month.

The Ayyappa Shaneshwar temple was established on the 15th January in the year 1984 with the huge support of the local people of the area. The temple is built as same as like Ayyappa Swamy Temple situated at Sabarimala in Kerala. For the establishing the statue of Lord Ayyappa a priest called Brahmashree Mahesvaran Adiraman Bhattarai from Kerala. A devotee of Ayyappa who takes Ayyappa Deeksha of 41 days with a prescribed way he will be free from the Shani Dasha of seven years. So there is a counter inside the temple which provides all worship items, fruits and sweets etc for offering to Lord Ayyappa. There is a board of long list of all types puja which can be done inside the temple. The price of all type of worship is also mention in the list. You will get a bill for anything purchased from the counter or for any type worship you done inside the temple. The members of the Shree Ayyappa Seva Samiti belongs to South India. The priest of the temple also a south Indian.

Festivals in Ayyappa Temple

Lord Ayyappa is linked with the most famous festival Makara Sankranti so there is annual function and feast for all devotee is organised by the local people and South Eastern Coalfields Limited (A Government Company) on this day. Every year lots of people come on this day to pray to Lord Ayyappa from nearby cites.

  • Please enter the temple with full faith, holiness and devotedness.
  • With full faith, keep your puja items in front of Lord Ayyappa statue.
  • Don't touch the statue of Lord Ayyappa inside the Ayyappa Temple.
  • After entering in temple use left side stairs for going up. Then use left side stairs for going down.
  • Women can come in the temple after seven days of their monthly periods.
  • Devotees can take Prasad only after the visiting Lord Ayyappa.
  • Circumambulate the Ayyappa temple five times.
  • Mobiles is strictly prohibited inside the main temple.

There is no entry ticket for the Lord Ayyappa's devotees in the Ayyapa Temple Bishrampur. There is two entry gates for entering in the temple. Inside the temple the main gate of the temple which is in front of Lord Ayyappa. The main gate is only open in 15th November in the year during the very famous festival.

How to Reach Ayyappa Temple Bishrampur

Bishrampur is a small town but it is well connected by the private transport bus services from various cities such as Varanasi, Renukut, Raipur, Ambikapur, Patna etc. It is also well connected by railway. You can get trains from Anupur or Katni for Bishrampur. You can reach from train also, Bishrampur railway station only 1 km from the main market. From the railway station, you have to take a private vehicle because there is no public transport available. Ayyappa Temple is near to Bus stand. You have to book private taxi or auto for going there. If you have own vehicle it is best.
